BiH Council of Ministers (CoM) convened on Thursday and unanimously adopted answers to European Commission’s Questionnaire. BiH CoM Chairman Denis Zvizdic said at a press conference that the process of providing the answer was the most complex process in all previous phases of the EU path of BiH.
Entire material contains more than 20,000 pages of laws and bylaws, and around 1,200 representatives of institutions at all levels of authorities provided answers to the questions. Zvizdic explained that 99 percent of answers were adopted by working groups in consensus, adding that number of members of these working groups ranged from 27 to 127. He also said that this process will lead BiH to the candidate status, noting also that the completed Questionnaire will be submitted to EC President Jean-Claude Juncker during his visit to BiH on February 28.
“Adoption of the answers to the Questionnaire is our message about where we want to be tomorrow. We want to be in the EU as its full member. Obtaining the status of a candidate country, which we expect in the upcoming period is a guarantee that the new, young generations of BiH are going to live in the European BiH,” said Zvizdic.
Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative Lars-Gunnar Wigemark welcomed the CoM's unanimous decision.
