Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Sarovic addressed the ‘CEFTA Week’ Ministerial Conference in Belgrade, and stated that the Central European Free Trade Agreement was ripe for changes.

According to Sarovic, BiH and Serbia will be the first ones to initiate changes that would eliminate barriers and facilitate trade among business entities.

“I think that it is time to give a new dimension to CEFTA. BiH is close to reaching an agreement with Serbia on elimination of all possible barriers. This should facilitate the trade and make it simpler and faster and without long delays at the border”, Sarovic said.

We will probably make this agreement official within the next couple of days, thus meeting demands of business entities from both BiH and Serbia”, he explained.

Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic said that it was necessary to move towards creation of a joint economic space.

He underlined that CEFTA members had to decide whether to wait for political decision or do something for the business entities.
