Sweden to support fight against corruption in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Sweden has decided to financially support the Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a total of BAM 1.9 million, which would be provided in the next four years through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA). 

The agreement was signed in Sarajevo by Head of Development Cooperation at the Embassy of Sweden in Sarajevo Marie Bergstrom and Chairman of the Steering Board of the TI BiH Srdjan Blagovcanin.

The agreement is based on main strategic priorities defined in the strategic plan, which include establishing of strong and productive cooperation with citizens and institutions; adoption and monitoring of introduction and implementation of anti-corruption standards and policies at all levels of authority in the country, and fight for social justice; strengthening of capacities and image of the Transparency International BiH; and improvement of this organization’s position in the global network.
