Bosnian U19 champions Zeljeznicar will face UEFA Youth League Group C runners-up Atletico Madrid in one-off tie on Wednesday.
Omer Joldic’s men defeated Bulgarian U19 champions PFC Ludogorets 4-3 on aggregate and Croatia’s Lokomotiva Zagreb on away goals rule to become the first ever Bosnian team to qualify for the UEFA Youth League play-offs.
Atletico Madrid ended the group stage of the UEFA Champions League path in second place, behind Group C winners Chelsea FC.
Manolo Cano’s team had three victories (2-1 at Roma, 5-1 at Qarabag and 2-1 at home against Roma) and three defeats (1-3 and 2-4 against Chelsea, 0-1 at home against Qarabag), and qualified for the play-offs on a better head-to-head record against AS Roma.
The match will be played at the Grbavica Stadium at 1600 hrs on Wednesday. Sale of tickets has started on Tuesday; prices of tickets are BAM 3 for the south stand, BAM 5 for the north and east stands each, and BAM 10 for the west stand.
The eight play-off winners will join the eight UEFA Champions League path group winners (Barcelona, Basel, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Porto and Tottenham Hotspur) in the round of 16, with the draw for the remainder of the competition scheduled to take place on Friday, February 9.
