Britain’s Health and Social Care Secretary Jeremy Hunt has been named UK’s new Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, hours after Boris Johnson resigned over the government’s Brexit strategy.

51-year-old Hunt previously served as Culture Secretary between 2010 and 2012, and Health Secretary between 2012 and 2018.

As a member of the then Prime Minister David Cameron’s Cabinet, Hunt was a leading advocate for Britain remaining an EU Member State - a clear difference from Johnson, one of the country’s top Brexit campaigners.

But Hunt has changed his opinion in the meantime, saying the he now supports Brexit and criticizing the EU’s approach to negotiations as ‘arrogant’ and ‘disappointing’.
