An exhibition displaying 40 previously unseen paintings by Mersad Berber will open on October 26, 2020 in the National Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo.  The paintings from the ‘Srebrenica’ series were inspired by the plight of Bosniaks from Srebrenica enclave. The exhibition will mark the 25th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide.

Following the exhibition in Sarajevo, the works will also be displayed in Istanbul and Washington next year.

Mersad Berber (1940-2012) was one of the best and most famous painters and graphic artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina. His paintings have been part of the Tate Museum’s collection since 1984.
