The Balkan Wine Network has been officially established with the signing of Memorandum of Understanding in Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia.

The initiative was launched by ‘Wines of Macedonia’ organization, and supported by similar organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina and other Western Balkan countries, which are implementing the project ‘Wine as a bridge of cooperation in the Western Balkans Region’.

Memorandum was signed by representatives of a total of 15 associations of wine producers, winegrowers and sommeliers.

The main objective of the Balkan Wine Network is to promote local autochthonous wine varieties and wines produced in the region, thus contributing to the Balkans being given a well-deserved place among other globally recognized wine regions.
