The time of the Coronavirus pandemic may be the perfect time for you to join one of the hiking and mountaineering associations in Sarajevo. There are several reasons why this may be a great idea. First, autumn is the perfect time of the year to explore mountains around Sarajevo or even further away from Sarajevo, before rain and snow enter our lives and stay all the way until spring 2021. The pandemic limited everyone’ social life and sport activities, so joining one of the mountaineering associations may bring some new people into your life and give you the perfect exercise for your muscles especially in case of another lockdown, not to mention the impact that hiking and mountaineering will leave on your mental health. Nearly all of the associations listed below confirmed for Pulse.ba that they have suspended all of their major, public activities due to the Coronavirus pandemic and they organize only activities for smaller groups of their members. Finally, hiking and mountaineering is quite cheap sport activity so you will not have to invest a lot of money: you will only have to pay some annual fee to associations and when it comes to sport equipment, all you need is some good waterproof boots, thermal clothes and a backpack to get you started. For those who did not hike before, joining one of the associations is a perfect solution because although mountains in BiH offer beautiful landscape and nature, they also hide many dangers for those who dare to go on this type of adventure on their own. Here is a list of some of the active hiking and mountaineering associations in Sarajevo – and some of them from outside of Sarajevo - that you can join and begin with your adventures:
