The licenses were handed over by Chairman of BiH Council of Ministers Denis Zvizdic. The permits have been granted for a period of 15 years, and license holders are obliged to start commercial service provision via the LTE network within one month.  Zvizdic explained that more that 60 percent of populated areas will get 4G signal coverage within a year. Introduction of 4G signal will start in largest cities – Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar, and later spread to other areas as well.

The assigned frequencies for 4G will allow coverage of rural areas with lower population density. In addition, speeds of 100 Mbps or more will be available to a greater share of the population, helping reduce the digital divide.
