The awarded projects will operate within various sectors, including anticorruption, social inclusion and social entrepreneurship, youth, education, media, health and environment.
The projects were awarded within the EU Civil Society Facility and Media Program in BiH 2016-2017, which is aimed at supporting civil society’s involvement in the EU integration process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Task Manager for Civil Society Development with the EU Delegation to BiH Vladimir Pandurevic underlined that civil society organizations played an important role as promoters of democracy, and noted that no fundamental social change could be achieved without a strong civil society.
“The European Union will continue with support to civil society organizations in BiH. This year, the EU provided support of almost four million euro and in the next year, the support will reach 5.5 million”, said Pandurevic.
In order to facilitate cooperation between CSOs and to raise awareness about results of the EU assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina in this sector, a web platform will be created to feature comprehensive information about 14 sectors which were supported by the EU within the Civil Society Facility and Media Program thus far.
