Reigning champions of Bosnia and Herzegovina FK Sarajevo lost 5-2 on aggregate to Scotland’s Celtic FC in the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round.
Scottish giants came from behind a week ago at the Asim Ferhatovic Hase Olympic Stadium in Sarajevo to take a commanding 3-1 lead to Celtic Park.
Neil Lennon’s team did just enough on Wednesday evening to secure another victory and book the second round clash with Estonian champions Nõmme Kalju FC.
Ryan Christie opened the scoring in the 26th minute of the game, but Sarajevo levelled the score through Benjamin Tatar midway through the second half.
However, Callum McGregor’s strike from the edge of the box 15 minutes from time won the game for the Bhoys.
Sarajevo has received a bye to the Europa League third qualifying round, champions’ path.
The draw for this round will take place in Nyon on Monday, July 22.
