Thousands of people might have to be evacuated from their homes in Sarajevo after an unexploded World War II bomb was discovered early on Thursday morning near the buidling of the Radio-Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The 500-kilogram device was unearthed at the construction site of the shopping mall in the Novi Grad Sarajevo Muncipality.

Representatives of the FBiH Civil Protection Administration confirmed that people living and working within two-kilometer radius from the discovery site would have to be evacuated until the bomb is defused and safely removed.

Bomb is likely to be removed late during the night between Thursday and Friday.
