Unexploded World War II bomb, which was discovered early on Thursday morning near the buidling of the Radio-Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been deactivated and there will be no need for mass evacuation of people living and working in neighboring districts.
The 500-kilogram device was unearthed at the construction site of the shopping mall in the Novi Grad Sarajevo Muncipality.
Members of the FBiH Civil Protection Administration claim that the bomb posed an immediate threat to between 15,000 and 20,000 people, which is why it was necessary to deactivate it at the discovery site.
The job has been completed succesfully early on Thursday afternoon. The bomb will be transported early on Friday morning to another location, where it will be destroyed.
