National football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Liechtenstein 5-0 in the fifth round of the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying Group J.
Although the final result might suggest it, the last night’s match at the ‘Bilino Polje’ Stadium in Zenica was by no means a walk in the park for Robert Prosinecki’s team.
Liechtenstein was trailing by only one goal until the 80th minute, but late four-goal flurry secured a comfortable win for the hosts.
Dinamo Zagreb attacking midfielder Amer Gojak opened and closed the scoring with goals in 11th and 89th minute of the game, Edin Dzeko and Edin Visca were also on target, and the second goal of the game went down as an own goal scored by Andreas Malin.
Also on Thursday, Italy won 3-1 at Armenia, while Finland defeated Greece 1-0 with Teemu Pukki scoring the only goal of the match from the penalty spot early in the second half.
Last night’s results mean that Bosnia is now on the third place in Group J, with seven points from five games - eight less than Italy and five less than Finland in the second place.
Matches in Group J resume on Sunday, when Armenia takes on Bosnia and Herzegovina at the ‘Vazgen Sargsyan’ Republican Stadium in Yerevan at 1500 hrs. Greece plays against Lichtenstein, while Finland hosts Italy in Tampere.
