Bosnian tennis player Damir Dzumhur defeated Marco Cecchinato of Italy in three sets to reach the second round of the ATP tournament in Zhuhai.
Dzumhur won 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 in exactly two hours.
The 27-year-old Bosnian saved three consecutive break points in the tenth game of the first set, only to lose his next service game and allow Cecchinato to take a 1-0 lead.
Dzumhur then saved two break points in the fourth game of the second set, and never faced another break point until the end of the match.
The world No. 93 broke Cecchinato’s serve at 3-3 in the second set, and then two times more in the third set for his third victory at the 2019 Zhuhai Open.
Dzumhur will play against either Kwon Soon Woo of Korea, or the tournament’s fifth seed, France’s Lucas Pouille, in the Round of 16. He has never played against any one of them.
