A number of players from Bosnia and Herzegovina were involved in last night’s UEFA Europa League second round matches.
Former FC Zeljeznicar striker Edin Visca scored what seemed to be the game-winning goal for Turkish runners-up Istanbul Basaksehir, but 91st minute strike by substitute Patrick Herrmann gave Borussia Monchengladbach a well-deserved point.
Qarabaq, with Asmir Begovic between the posts, won 4-1 at Luxembourg’s F91 Dudelange, while Gojko Cimirot played the full 90 minutes in Standard Liege’s 4-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal. Sead Kolasinac was an unused substitute in that game.
Roma coach Paulo Fonseca decided to rest Edin Dzeko in Roma’s away draw with Wolfsberger AC. SS Lazio captain Senad Lulic was substituted in the 82nd minute of Italian Cup winners’ clash with Rennes, which Lazio won 2-1.
Mateo Susic played the full 90 minutes in CFR Cluj’s 2-0 defeat away to Celtic, while Eldar Civic was an unused substitute in Ferencvaros’ 0-3 home thumping by Bulgaria’s PFK Ludogorets.
