UK Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Matthew Field commented on satirical posters placed in Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar to ‘celebrate’ one year since the October 2018 general elections in the country, and an entire year of unsuccessful attempts to reach an agreement on formation of state-level authorities.
One of those posters, the photo of which Field shared on his Instagram profile, reads “Error 404: Council of Ministers - not found”.
Ambassador Field posted this photo along with the hashtag #BosnianHumour, but had to elaborate on his position after one of his followers said that this was not a comedy, but an act of desperation.
“To be clear, I don’t think this is an acceptable or normal situation. One year since elections, and governments still not formed at all levels. So much work to do, so many people leaving. The UK Embassy is committed to helping change - from critical thinking in schools to the business environment to the rule of law - but we need partners too”, Field wrote.
