The City of Banja Luka has been approved a total of EUR 230,000 from European funds for development of capacities of Kastel fortress.

Those funds have been approved within the European cross-border cooperation project ‘Interreg IPA Cross-border Program Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro 2014-2020’.

Banja Luka is a partner on the project, implemented by the Fortress of Culture Sibenik (Croatia), in cooperation with local administrations in Herceg Novi (Montenegro), Bar (Montenegro), and Karlovac (Croatia).

Center for visitors will be established and equipped in the Kastel Fortress’ Stone House. Also, digital kiosk will be set up at the same location with information for tourists and an augmented reality (AR) photo booth.

Project will last a total of 24 months, and partner cities are supposed to organize joint event titled ‘Night of Fortresses’.
