A number of players from Bosnia and Herzegovina were involved in last night’s UEFA Europa League fourth round matches.
Former FC Zeljeznicar winger Edin Visca scored a goal and provided an assist as Istanbul Basaksehir trashed ten-man Wolfsberger AC 3-0 to go top of the 2019-2020 UEFA Europa League Group J.
Visca opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute, and then set up his team’s second goal, scored by French striker Enzo Crivelli 11 minutes later. Crivelli added another one three minutes from time.
Also in Group J, Edin Dzeko played the full 90 minutes in AS Roma’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Borussia Monchengladbach. For the second time in as many matches against the German side, Paulo Fonseca’s team conceded a goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time, and Roma is now in serious danger of missing out on Round of 32 berth.
Qarabaq, with Asmir Begovic between the posts, lost 2-1 at APOEL Nicosia.
Gojko Cimirot played the full 90 minutes in Standard Liege’s 2-1 victory against Eintracht Frankfurt, and was shown a yellow card in the 71st minute of the game. Also in Europa League Group F, Sead Kolasinac was once again an unused substitute in Arsenal’s 1-1 away draw with Vitoria Guimaraes.
SS Lazio’s Senad Lulic entered the game against Scottish giants Celtic in the 58th minute, but was unable to prevent his team from losing the game 2-1, courtesy of Olivier Ntcham’s 95th minute goal.
Eldar Civic played the full 90 minutes in Ferencvaros’ goalless draw with CSKA Moscow.
PSV Eindhoven’s 20-year-old striker Amar Catic made his first Europa League appearance, as he entered the game against LASK Linz in the 64th minute. LASK won 4-1.
