The Steering Board of the Regional Housing Programme decided on Tuesday in Paris to provide additional EUR 4.1 million for implementation of housing programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.
Based on the current pledges of the international donor community which have allowed the approval of sub-projects worth a total of EUR 75 million, the RHP will provide a durable housing solution to 3,200 families, or nearly 10,000 most vulnerable refugees, displaced persons and returnees in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Statement issued by the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina reads that nearly 1,200 housing units have been constructed thus far with the support of the RHP, while construction of 600 housing units is currently underway.
The Regional Housing Programme (RHP) is a joint initiative by Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia. The aim of the RHP is to contribute to the resolution of the protracted displacement situation of the most vulnerable refugees and displaced persons following the 1991-1995 conflicts on the territory of former Yugoslavia, including internally displaced persons in Montenegro from 1999.
