The renovated Sarajevo Olympic Museum opened on Thursday night in a ceremony attended by many extinguished guests. The Museum was officially opened by Prince Albert II of Monaco and Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka.

The Museum is located in a historical building designed by architect Karlo Parzik in 1903. The Museum was opened in 1994, when Sarajevo hosted the 14th Winter Olympic Games.

The Museum was destroyed in shelling and fire on April 27th, 1992. After 28 years, it has been restored to its former glory and opened for visitors.

Prince Albert will continue his visit to Sarajevo for several more days. He will receive the keys to the City of Sarajevo and become honorary citizen of Sarajevo in a ceremony scheduled for Friday evening.
