Foreign nationals visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina are required by law to offer proof that they possess sufficient funds to cover all their expenses during their stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The minimum required amount is BAM 150 for every day of the intended stay in the country. The funds can be in in any currency, in cash or in the bank account, in which case a bank statement needs to be presented to the Border Police officers at the point of entry.

The Border Police is obviously taking this requirement seriously, since 955 persons have been denied entry to Bosnia and Herzegovina this year. Some of the entries were denied due to lack of valid visas or travel documents, but a number of visitors were denied entry because they could not offer proof of possession of sufficient funds.
