A total of 1,281,751 tourists arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina between January and September 2019, which is 11.1 percent more than in the first nine months of 2018.
Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted a total of 2,661,261 overnight stays in all types of accommodation establishments - a 9.3-percent increase compared to 2018 - out of which 72.9 percent were overnight stays of foreign tourists.
According to the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the majority of non-resident tourists in the country were from Croatia (11.4 percent), Serbia (8.1%), Saudi Arabia (7.7%), Slovenia (5.0%), Italy (4.9%), Germany, China, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Poland.
When it comes to the average length of stay, tourists from Malta and Kuwait lead the way with 4.7 and 3.4 nights respectively.
92.1 percent of overnight stays were in hotels and similar types of accommodation.
